Presentation Title: Biotech Journey Through the Phases of Commercializing a Product
Every biotech start-up that transitions successfully from research and development to commercialization faces common and addressable changes and challenges.
Priorities change, previously successful management practices are no longer applicable, new tensions disrupt team dynamics, and the organization requires a different kind of skill set and leadership approach. During this interactive session, you will learn about what is required for biotech companies to move from a research and development organization to a commercial organization. As a HR professional, this session will enable you to be more conversant with your peers about where your company is today and what it needs to do to prepare for the next phase of development.

Breck Arnzen of the ArnzenGroup LLC brings extensive experience as both an internal and external business advisor to CEOs and GMs from start-ups to large global corporations specializing in organizational alignment, change management, leadership development and executive coaching. Breck has worked extensively in the bio/pharma industry assisting with early stage organization development, project and program leadership, process improvement and post-acquisition integration as examples. Prior to his work as an external consultant and coach, Breck held the position of Vice President of Leadership and Organization Development at Avery Dennison Corporation. He has also held senior management positions with SmithKline Beecham(now GlaxoSmithKline) and Digital Equipment Corporation (now HP).
Susan Nemetz of The NemetzGroup LLC brings more than 30 years of corporate strategy, sales, marketing, business development and management experience in the healthcare sector. Susan founded The NemetzGroup with the core guiding principle to help clients balance the entrepreneurial spirit of breakthrough innovations with the need for discipline and process to achieve their maximum potential. Prior to establishing The NemetzGroup, Susan was Vice President of International Commercial Operations at Millennium Pharmaceuticals. Prior to Millennium, Susan worked in a variety of sales and marketing leadership roles at DuPont Pharmaceuticals in both the therapeutic and imaging businesses, culminating in her role as Executive Vice President of Cardiovascular Therapeutics and Imaging.
