Event Description

For many companies in the biotechnology and life science industries, the path of transitioning from a focus on research and development to commercialization can bring great excitement and a variety of challenges. During this transition, priorities change, previously successful management practices may no longer be applicable, new tensions disrupt team dynamics, and the organization requires a different kind of skill set and leadership approach.

To help your company successfully navigate these transition periods, please join us at our next group meeting on October 22nd, 2015. This meeting will be led by Susan Nemetz, President of The NemetzGroup. In addition, we will have a panel of fellow HR BioTech Connect group members that have gone through types of growth periods and are willing to share their insight.

During this interactive session, you will learn about the different steps and challenges that may occur as companies grow from 1-100 employees, 101-300, 301-500, and beyond.

To ensure that the panel is informed by the issues you find more relevant, we will be sending a survey out to those that RSVP for this session. We will share the results of the survey with attendees and use the insights to guide the panel discussion.

In addition, our panelists will speak about some of surprising differences that occur when operating in a larger organization, and discuss opportunities that you may want to take advantage of now to prepare for success. They will highlight strategies that may help you in areas such as company culture, building a sales team, and helping your employees align with the company’s shift in focus.

Susan Nemetz, Partner of NemetzGroup: Susan brings more than 30 years of corporate strategy, sales, marketing, business development, and management expertise in the healthcare sector. Susan’s significant professional accomplishments include creating international operating strategies for the launch of a novel cancer therapy, growing a small nuclear medicine business into a world-class medical imaging operation, and successfully integrating two distinct therapeutic and imaging organizations into a single, cohesive cardiovascular franchise. Susan sought to fill an unmet need in the life sciences arena and founded the NemetzGroup on a core guiding principle — to help clients balance the entrepreneurial spirit of breakthrough innovations with the need for discipline and process to achieve their maximum potential. As she begins her 14th year leading The NemetzGroup, Susan has had the opportunity to see many examples of successful and struggling transitions to the next phase of growth.
